Don’t forget to boil the gel packs after each use for 5 minutes to reset them (Do not leave unattended). Carefully remove gel packs with a spoon and place on a towel to cool. For cold treatments, insert Beads with fabric pockets into the back of the goggle. Place the goggle in a self-sealing plastic bag and leave in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. Once the goggle is removed from the bag, place over closed eyelids. Wear for 15 minutes or as directed by your eye doctor.

Moderate to Severe Evaporative Dry Eye (MGD)

Meibomian glands are small oil glands located in the margin of the eyelids. These secrete meibum, an oily substance that prevents the natural tears from evaporating.

When the Meibomian glands are clogged, the tear evaporation rate increases. Watery eyes, burning and stingy eyes, irritation and scratchiness and overall ocular discomfort are among the symptoms of Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. The risk of suffering MGD increases with age, but other factors such as not removing eye makeup completely, contribute to it.

Treatment consists of warm compresses, lid massage, eyelash scrubs, increased intake of omega-3, antibacterial eye drops, cyclosporine drops, or implementation of punctual plugs.

Moderate to Severe Blepharitis

Blepharitis is a common ocular surface disease that causes inflammation of the eyelids; it’s usually associated to dry eye. Anterior blepharitis is caused by bacteria, whereas posterior blepharitis is a result of Meibomian gland dysfunction or other conditions such as those related to the presence of Demodex mites. Sometimes, allergic reactions to medications or cosmetics can cause blepharitis too.

Symptoms include redness, burning sensation, irritation, tearing, eyelid/eyelash crusting, and visual problems such as light sensitivity and blurred vision; symptoms are typically worse in the mornings.

The first line of treatment is eyelid hygiene and warm compresses. Further treatment requires antibiotics, steroids and artificial tears.

Lid Margin Inflammation

Lid margin inflammation is manifested as a swollen upper or lower eyelid, due to excess fluid in the tissues around the eye. Irritation, watery, red and itchy eyes are among the symptoms.

Causes vary, but the most common are allergies, eye infections, trauma (like a black eye), blepharitis and Grave’s disease. Treatment depends on the underlying cause, but cool compresses always help to reduce the swelling.

Demodex Infestation

Demodex mites are tiny parasites that live in the Meibomian glands of the eyelids and the sebaceous glands of the skin, meaning they are not only found on eyelashes but also other face areas. Almost every adult carries a small amount of Demodex, however, when these increase in number they cause uncomfortable symptoms including eye irritation, eyelid inflammation, itching and loss of eyelashes. Demodex mites are also linked to other skin conditions such as rosacea.

Eyelid hygiene is crucial in Demodex-caused conditions management. Tea tree oil has been scientifically proven to eradicate the mites.

I've tried so many ointments and drops, reduced screen time. nothing worked. i got this back in july 2018 and my world has changed. I apply nighttime ointment, wet the foam inserts and put these on. I sleep very well now. The fan, AC/heater, nothing bothers. It has lasted well too except the foam... Read More

Amazing Relief
I was experiencing a lot of Dry Eye pain and my doctor recommended this product. I've gotta say, this treatment is amazing! I felt tremendous relief after the first 20 minutes.

I hadn't realized just how dry my eyes had become until they were moisturized again. Now not only do my eyes feel wonderful, but my energy is way up as well.

I ordered the XL size because I wanted the maximum treatment available, and I'm glad I did. The larger goggles are super-comfortable a... Read More
