Recommended for those with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, Blepharitis, and Evaporative Dry Eye.

30% larger than the original tranquileyes®, the Basic XL Kit with Beads offers a longer treatment time, perfect for those with chronic/severe dry eye-related problems.

This Basic tranquileyes® xl Kit comes with our reusable Beads, providing 60 moist-heat treatments of 20-25 minutes each, and cold therapies. Just microwave or freeze as needed.

Studies have shown that a combination of controlled temperature and humidity are vital for long-term relief from dry eye and related problems. Our patented technology delivers both at an optimal rate. The heated Beads help release critical oil from your eyelids, stabilizing the tear film and slowing evaporation, all while helping hydrate the skin around your eyes.

Do you suffer from eye irritation or puffiness? Tranquileyes® xl with Beads are a great way to reduce both. Just freeze the gel packs, place them in the goggles, and watch as your symptoms are relieved in real-time.

  • Moderate to Severe Evaporative Dry Eye (MGD)

Meibomian glands are small oil glands located in the margin of the eyelids. These secrete meibum, an oily substance that prevents the natural tears from evaporating.

When the Meibomian glands are clogged, the tear evaporation rate increases. Watery eyes, burning and stingy eyes, irritation and scratchiness and overall ocular discomfort are among the symptoms of Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. The risk of suffering MGD increases with age, but other factors such as not removing eye makeup completely, contribute to it.

Treatment consists of warm compresses, lid massage, eyelash scrubs, increased intake of omega-3, antibacterial eye drops, cyclosporine drops, or implementation of punctual plugs.

    Moderate to Severe Blepharitis

Blepharitis is a common ocular surface disease that causes inflammation of the eyelids; it’s usually associated to dry eye. Anterior blepharitis is caused by bacteria, whereas posterior blepharitis is a result of Meibomian gland dysfunction or other conditions such as those related to the presence of Demodex mites. Sometimes, allergic reactions to medications or cosmetics can cause blepharitis too.

Symptoms include redness, burning sensation, irritation, tearing, eyelid/eyelash crusting, and visual problems such as light sensitivity and blurred vision; symptoms are typically worse in the mornings.

The first line of treatment is eyelid hygiene and warm compresses. Further treatment requires antibiotics, steroids and artificial tears.

    Ocular Allergies

Ocular allergies are a reaction of the immune system to substances such as pollen or mold spores. The irritation of the conjunctiva causes puffy, itchy eyes. Ocular allergies are not just seasonal, as allergens can be indoors as well. Watery eyes, eye redness, swelling and pain are other common symptoms.

Antihistamines, cold compresses and shielding your eyes from allergens by wearing glasses/sunglasses alleviate ocular allergies’ symptoms.

    Lid Margin Inflammation

Lid margin inflammation is manifested as a swollen upper or lower eyelid, due to excess fluid in the tissues around the eye. Irritation, watery, red and itchy eyes are among the symptoms.

Causes vary, but the most common are allergies, eye infections, trauma (like a black eye), blepharitis and Grave’s disease. Treatment depends on the underlying cause, but cool compresses always help to reduce the swelling.

    Demodex Infestation

Demodex mites are tiny parasites that live in the Meibomian glands of the eyelids and the sebaceous glands of the skin, meaning they are not only found on eyelashes but also other face areas. Almost every adult carries a small amount of Demodex, however, when these increase in number they cause uncomfortable symptoms including eye irritation, eyelid inflammation, itching and loss of eyelashes. Demodex mites are also linked to other skin conditions such as rosacea.

Eyelid hygiene is crucial in Demodex-caused conditions management. Tea tree oil has been scientifically proven to eradicate the mites.
